For nearly four decades, Antonio Siu has dedicated his career to developing better building materials for demanding exterior environments. Driven by a simple belief that the natural beauty of wood should not require constant maintenance, Antonio spent more than 20 years advancing composite material technology. His research led to the development of Enhanced Fiber Composite (EFC), an engineered material designed to resist moisture, UV exposure, termites, weathering, and the challenges of long-term outdoor exposure.
Recognizing the untapped potential of agricultural by-products, Antonio also pioneered the use of rice husk as a high-performance reinforcement within the material system. By transforming what was once considered agricultural waste into a durable structural component, he helped create a more stable, longer-lasting, and environmentally responsible exterior building material.

Antonio has always believed that true innovation must be proven through real-world performance, not just laboratory testing. Beginning with waterfront installations in Hong Kong in 1999, EFC technology was tested in some of the region’s most demanding environments, including marine settings exposed to salt air, humidity, heavy pedestrian traffic, and constant weather. Landmark projects such as Victoria Peak continue to demonstrate the long-term durability of the technology more than two decades later.
